Big shifts come in all shapes and sizes, and this week was no exception.

It has been incredibly difficult as we unexpectedly lost our amazing pup, Esther.

I've taken the last few days to reset and allow myself to grieve and read this book.​

I'm so grateful for the outpouring of love and support as we head into this next week.

Despite the sadness, we have some exciting things happening... which is a WEIRD place to be in.

This experience has reminded me of the importance of living authentically and honoring your energy to stay aligned with how you show up in the world.

Yesterday, I had a speaking engagement at the Residential Assisted Living Conference in Anaheim.

I hadn't planned on sharing where I was at, but I ended up sharing a glimpse of where I was emotionally and my gratitude for the work they do with the elderly, which cleared the air and allowed me to genuinely enjoy presenting, laughing, and sharing mind-blowing AI strategies.

This balance is something I'm eager to explore in more depth on our new podcast, "Authentically Awesome," once it's released.

GitHub, Microsoft, and OpenAI have settled a lawsuit concerning the use of copyrighted code in training their AI models. The lawsuit was initiated due to concerns that the companies' AI tools, like GitHub Copilot, were using code from public repositories without proper attribution or license compliance. The settlement aims to address these copyright issues and ensure that creators' rights are respected moving forward. ​

California's Safe and Secure Innovation for Frontier Artificial Intelligence Models Act

California is considering the Safe and Secure Innovation for Frontier Artificial Intelligence Models Act (SB 1047). This bill mandates that AI developers adhere to strict safety and security protocols before training AI models. It requires the creation of a Frontier Model Division to oversee compliance, including annual audits, incident reporting, and the ability to enforce penalties for non-compliance. Additionally, it aims to establish a public cloud computing cluster, CalCompute, for safe AI research. I'm not sure about all the details, but it looks like a new "Frontier Model Division" would be formed to oversee these new laws and have the power to dictate if a researcher or engineer could be jailed. Interesting.
